Howdy!
I'm so pleased to let you know that all of the books have been sent, so the Tales of the Outlaw Mages Kickstarter is done! If you didn't get your books and you're not one of the people I privately contacted about the sprayed edges issue, then let me know. It's possible you didn't pay for shipping, which is the holdup.
As a reminder, we're also at the end of the period where rewards can be claimed. So if you don't have yours, you need to let me know ASAP!
I hope that everyone who has received your hardcovers are enjoying your books. I truly appreciate your support and look forward to bringing you more beautiful editions.
Speaking of...
A couple of days ago, I received my physical proofs for Dragon Meridians. What you're seeing above are the custom edges on the book. I can't express to you how absolutely stunning they are in person. You're going to want to strongly consider adding these to your bookshelf!

Howdy!
Time for another quick update! First, for my handful of people still waiting for your sprayed edges books, hope is on the horizon. The books have arrived at the sprayer, and she should be able to get to them soon (according to her.) Keep your fingers and toes crossed that USPS won't lose these books on their way to me again.
Now, on to the topic of MORE beautiful books! I have a new campaign dropping on September 16, 2024!
Dragon Meridians, Book 2 in the Airship Dragons series, will feature all the magic, thrills, and adventure of my other books but in a package even prettier than anything I've done before! My standard oodles of full-color images are joined by luscious holographic foil on the cover and an option for custom sprayed edges (design still being finalized). Plus, a truly gorgeous book box!
I hope you'll soar into the adventure of Dragon Meridians with me!
The Good, the Bad, and the Shipping

Howdy!
I was really hoping to send this update last week, but Hurricane Beryl has made things topsy-turvy. (We're very lucky that we weren't among the 2.26 million customers without power for almost a week but it still did a lot to mess things up here.)
This shipping update is of most interest to my sprayed edges folks.
The sprayer finished spraying all of the books and mailed them to me at the end of June. Unfortunately, their arrival corresponded with Beryl's arrival. (Well, 2 of the 5 boxes arrived a day before landfall. One box was literally delivered DURING the hurricane. I have questions. So many questions.)
Two boxes were majorly delayed. So delayed that they ended up in a different part of the US from me for a good chunk of time. One of those boxes was finally delivered to me yesterday, but one of the books inside was badly damaged in shipping.
The other box that I'm still waiting for is having a grand adventure. Here's its itinerary:
Start in North Carolina
Rochester, NY
Dallas, TX
Houston, TX (hey cool, that's where I live, surely it will...)
Dallas, TX (well, okay, still in the same state...)
Houston, TX (Cool! Right city, let's get this bad boy delivered)
Dallas, TX (wtf? Seriously??)
Philadelphia, PA (Now I am screeching and shaking my fists at the heavens)
I'm trying to be optimistic, but I don't have a lot of hope for the books in that box, at this point. I can only imagine how abused they've been at this point.
What does all this mean???
It means that a select few of you will be getting emails tomorrow, telling you that your books are on the way (yay). For others of you, it means that I need that wandering box to come in. The odds are not in our favor, and I'll likely have to get insurance involved. And then I'll have to reorder some number of books, yet to be determined (but certainly the copy of Persuader that I already know is damaged, RIP.) AND THEN those books have to be sent to get sprayed.
So for a few of you, there will be some extreme delays mostly caused by the chaos of the postal/delivery system. I apologize for that, because I really, really wanted to get these gorgeous books to you ASAP.
I'll make another update when I know the fate of that box! (Because surely you'll want to know where else it's been, right?)

Howdy!
It's happening--soon most of the Tales of the Outlaw Mages books will be arriving at the homes of all physical backers! (In fact, a few of you may already have them in hand!)
If you get an email from PirateShip saying that Legend Has It is sending you something, that's me!
The only ones who are not shipping imminently are the Sprayed Edges books and the couple of people who still need to fix credit card information to pay for shipping. For my Sprayed Edge folks, the sprayer is in the process of working on the books so I'm hopeful that I'll be getting those out soonish, too!
I can't wait for y'all to get these beautiful books, and I hope you love reading them as much as I loved putting them together!
I'll push out another update when the Sprayed Edge books are shipping. Cross your fingers that it's before too long!
Addresses Locking & More!

Hi All,
Quick update that addresses are locking on Backerkit today! Once they lock, if you need to change your address for some reason, please reach out and I can help you!
All of the hardcovers arrived last week. Unfortunately, FedEx were absolutely horrible to the boxes (some of them look like they'd been hit by a truck) and it's a miracle all of the books aren't damaged. There are a few with damage, so I'm going to get with my printer to see what they can do. But that said, even with that I should still be set to start shipping out most of the non-sprayed edges books very soon!
As far as the book box books, they've arrived with Madison the sprayer, but they had similar treatment from FedEx. Several book jackets were mangled badly (which protected the books, at least.) I think she'll be able to start spraying them as-is, but many hardcovers will need new jackets.
Here's a picture of some of the beauties on the dining room table! (The table is more than 100 years old so I spread the hardcovers out so they didn't take out the leaf in the middle.) The paperbacks are not pictured but are in my house and getting ready to go!
The fun thing with this table is that you can't see it, but generations of my family have used it for various tasks. There are marks on it from where my mom and her sister worked to make their own clothes when they were young. Now this table is seeing a new generation using it in a different but still creative way!
Charged Cards & Surveys!
A quick note: a couple of you have cards that failed to charge through Backerkit. If you fix your card info in Backerkit, it will automatically try to charge your card so that you can get your items. However, sometimes for whatever reason Backerkit won't charge your card and there's no reason because everything looks right. If that's the case for you, let me know and we can move your payment to Stripe.
Surveys: I still have a handful of you who have paid in other ways but haven't filled out your survey! No survey means no books can be shipped to you. Please please please do yourself a favor and make sure your survey is filled out--you can recover it here:
But I'm also going to send emails to those of you who haven't done the survey or your cards are failing to charge, so please pay attention if you get an email from me!
I'm very excited that soon I'll be able to send these gorgeous books to you! I'll post another update when shipping begins in earnest so you know what's going on.
